2. Scam for Veteran Benefits Buyout
Many legitimate programs are in place for those who need cash now and are willing to cash out a structured settlement, retirement account, etc. These scammers make offers that are “just for vets” in the form of an upfront cash settlement. All the vet has to do is give them future pension or disability payments. However, the cash the veteran does receive is only a fraction of these payments. They never again receive a cent from their benefits.
