2. Do Your Tax Preparation Early
A scammer can’t file a false federal return in your name if you’ve already filed it. Filing your return as early as possible ensures they will not be able to, and you will get your refund earlier – assuming your entitled to one. And if you know your income, you don’t have to wait for your W-2’s to arrive to do it.
